Music and Magic in the Mountains! A 4-day celebration of music and art nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia! Bridging the gap between genres, generations and cultures, the festival features over 100 performers on 10 stages! The 80-acre mountain plateau offers camping, a progressive ‘Global Village’ area of workshops and demonstrations, over 100 artisans and crafters, food offerings ranging from pulled-pork BBQ to hand-churned ice cream, a comprehensive healing arts area, and a Children’s Universe, featuring stage performances geared toward children, puppetry, workshops, playground equipment and babysitting services. The festival is located at milepost 170.5 off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway.

BS Tests the ZIP-IT by BrassCraft

Originally we thought it was time to go to the store and purchase $20 worth of harsh chemicals for a clogged tub.

While navigating which arsenic scent would be better, lilac or summer breeze (no joke: they are scented now), a cardboard stand in the aisle caught our attention.

This funny little barb cost less than $3 at the Home Depot.

Disclosure: We would never advocate for not calling a local professional, nor have we asked one if this tool is safe to use on the drains and pipes in your home.

Our original intention was to have BS Test this little stick and to see if the BrassCraft claim that it would unclog hair and muck from a drain was even possible.

After about 30 seconds of shimmy and poke this 24 inch ‘dip-stick’ only showed its round tabbed end with my white knuckle clutched.

I ripped the ZIP-IT with lawnmower force and a splattering mess of hair and debris flew up and suctioned to the ceiling and all four walls.

Despite the mess, mostly caused by my exuberance, the drain cleared and the tub emptied with the rush of newness not known to this tube for many years.  Other than the nicks to my knuckles from the sharp little prickers and the uncomfortable tabbed top BS TESTS gives this simple but brilliant barbed poker 4 Bulls!

Georgia Music Awards Coming To The Buckhead Theatre June 8

This June marks the second annual Georgia Music Awards in which Georgia’s finest musicians come together to honor and recognize accomplishments of Georgia artists across several genres. Over 200 nominees in Rock, Hip Hop, Alternative, Latin, Country, and R&B will be recognized through the awards ceremony. The event has a very clear objective, which is to encourage the development of the music industry in Georgia while encouraging growth in music, both present and future. While the GA Music Awards will focus on the most prominent and hottest musicians and artists in Georgia, artists outside of Georgia will be honored as well.

All awards through this event are chosen by you, the fans. First, nominations are taken on the GA Music Awards website. The top nominated artists are reviewed by a panel, and from those nominations the Awards Nominees are announced. From those nominees, the people and their fans get to vote. If your favorite artist does not get nominated, do no fret, you can still write in that person’s or band’s name!  The awards ceremony is truly by the people and for the people.
